I'm so excited that you've joined the blogging world! You've achieved something I haven't...getting your picture on your sidebar. I haven't figured that one out. Any hints?
Here's what you've gotta do. Log in the the Blogger Dashboard. At the top right side is a box that says "edit my profile". Click on that. Then a ways down the page it asks for a photo URL. That means your photo has to be on a website. The way to do this is to post the photo in one of your posts. You obviously know how to do that. Actually go ahead and publish the post. Then go back to that screen where you typed your post, and there is a little tab at the top that says "edit html". Click on that and it will show you a whole bunch of computer nonsense, but you will recognize where it begins with "http://" and ends with "jpg". Select ONLY that section and right click and choose copy. Then get out of that and go back into "edit my profile" and paste that string into the "Photo URL" space. Make sure your photo has a very short title before you post it (if it is titled at all) because it won't accept a real long one. Then go to the bottom of that page and click to make the changes. Then you can go back to the dashboard, find the post you created with the photo in it, and delete the unnecessary post. Call me if you want help.
I did everything you said and it keeps insisting that I have illegal characters. I didn't do anything illegal because I just copied it from my blog. Oh well. There are plenty of pictures of me posted in my blog!
